In Beaufort, North Carolina, a prank on a student goes terribly wrong and puts the student in the hospital. Landon Carter, a popular student with no defined plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after-school community service activities as punishment, which include starring as the lead in the school play. Also participating in these activities is Jamie Sullivan, the reverend's daughter who has great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. When Landon decides he wants to take his activities seriously, he asks Jamie for help and begins to spend most of his time with her. But he starts to develop strong feelings for her, something he did not expect to. The two started a relationship, much to the chagrin of Landon's old popular friends and Jamie's strict reverend father. But when a heart-breaking secret becomes known that puts their relationship to the test, it is then that Landon and Jamie realize the true meaning of love and fate.

Fifty-seven-year-old Landon Carter narrates the novel, reflecting on events from 40 years in the past. The novel opens with a Prologue, in which the older Landon, living in the same North Carolina town as he did at the age of 17, stands near the Baptist church that figures prominently in the novel and gets himself in the mindset of his 17-year-old self. The story begins in 1958 and is, Landon tells us, both joyful and sad.

Seventeen-year-old Landon is a senior at Beaufort High School, which collaborates each year with Southern Baptist Church on a Christmas play called The Christmas Angel. The play, written by Reverend Hegbert Sullivan, the minister of the church, tells the story of a man who is so grief-stricken over the death of his wife (while giving birth to their only child) that he is not much of a father to his child. An angel appears to the man, and she admonishes him to be a better father; she also performs a small miracle for the family on Christmas morning. The popular play, performed in the local playhouse, features seniors from the high school.

London is a teenager whose life has been filled with pride and arrogance toward others. Before he met with Jamie, he did not understand the meaning of life and love. He only view as a game and love as a word only. Jamie after he met with him a new understanding of life and a sense of compassion. And study to be useful for someone who she loved and playing the brave to stand anything that will happen. He was aware that love has changed everything that was in his life and himself.

Jamie Sullivan

She is the real angel of the story, not just a character in the school play. She is depicted as a rather strange young girl who wears her long hair in a bun and dons the same sweater and plaid skirt almost every day. Since they have all been children, her classmates have made fun of her for........... The seventeen year-old girl daughter of a Baptist minister who is dying of cancer, but who impacts on the lives of everyone around her. Jamie is a woman who is innocent and humble; he's always struggled with himself in any case. She is a woman who is very cheerful and always rejoice, walking in the word of God, and sprinkle with others. She is dying of a rare form of leukemia and has only a few months to live.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

But success can only be achieved by dreaming merely , yes although early to be a success should have ' dreams 'Many people can 't be successful not it wasn 't dreaming but maybe only sink into the dream . Or there 's also that comes from a dream and keep trying to but not being a successful. Yes, the beginning of success is the dream and to achieve it must be a continuous effort, though we might get ' failed ', but to be successful, our efoorts should keep on going.
 Maybe these tips below can help you, so check it out !

       PLAN

Any little thing to work on must have plan. If you are a businessman, you must have a strategy for the attainment of success you want .

·         DO IT

All that we've planned can't be delayed or only as far as bluffing. We have to take a real action, and make it all happen.

·         CHECk

Should check the progress of what we've been doing. And we also should make a report of the results to weigh how much work has been done.

·         ACT

Soon act if the plan you do did'nt succeed or even almost failed. Don't give up and be desperate because there are people who met the failure first and then finally the success.

In this story I think has some theme.

·         Love conquers all

In this story can have been seen that someone can joy the life with all the destinies. It is caused by love. So love can conquer all.

·         God's plan

In this story we can see that Jemy’s disease is God's plan. London believes it. He can joy the day with jemy’s love even though jemy has gone away. 

·         Mood

In this movie, the mood is tragic, filled with despair, there are many sad conditions. But, at other times, it is full of spirit and hope.

Belinda was Landon's ex girl friend.

She was Landon's girl friend before Landon became a-kind guy. Belinda was actually still in love with Landon, but because Landon had already fallen in love with Jamie, then  Landon was dating with Jamie, Belinda finally was getting  jealous. He tried to cheat and make Jamie's image was getting worse, especially to Landon's point of view. Her attitude was very cunning, she gave the sly idea to his friend in order to make a topless photo of Jamie, and then Jamie was shamed. But in the end she asked sorry and apologized to Jamie through Landon, when Jamie in illness.

Jemmie so brilliantly played by actress Mandy Moore to make an impression Jemmie a shy, faithful, and not decomposed in the frenetic lives of high school to life. Jammie is a favorite character in this film. Have concern for the social activities and penchant for singing and watching the movement of the stars through a telescope hers.

Jamie Sullivan is also an incredible girl who is dying from an untreatable and terminal leukemia.  She is very involved in school activities such as the play where she meets Landon who's forced to be there.  Jamie has a list of things she'd like to do and the unlikely Landon helps her achieve them.

Analysis of Jamie Sullivan Character

There are many things of main characterizes in the A Walk to Remember movie. For example in this story I want to describe one of special person in this movie is the former of Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore).  Jamie Sullivan is a smart girl in high school. She is quiet and religion good girl because she is the daughter of the Beaufort church minister Herbert Sullivan.

She always wears blond hair in a bun, actually she wears vintage clothes likes a plaid skirt and brown sweater at school. Even if she quiet girl but she is friendly person for a first look friend. In addition, active girl at church minister choir. She has a talent in piano player, for it has beautiful voice.

With her voice talent she tries to show that he can develop her act in drama. And Landon friends do not like her because they think Jamie take and interact with Landon especially every day. Until Jamie told that she has leukemia and must through his disease.

But with her disease she has walk in many experience, Landon is a special best friend and boy friend after she always to help and spirit for his studied, she never think that life in disease very hard and never recover. Because she always has a good father and God, she believe she has becomes strong and patient until the end. Then, after she recovers from treatment, Jamie knows that her life will be dead. So, Landon proposes to marriage Jamie because he knows that a special girl in his life is just Jamie. After that,  Jamie knows that a truth love when he wants to serious with her life together no matter in hard and grief of life.

          Reverend Hegbert Sullivan who is played by Peter Coyote , one of the important characters on this movie. Reverend as Jamie’s father work as a pastor at South Carolina church. Reverend has a proctective temper to his daughter Jamie. Nobody knows the reason why he do that but he always disallow Jamie to go out with her friends. As a father , he have a role as a mother too for Jamie. At the first time, he was not to happy saw Jamie and Landon always go out together, he know well how Landon’s temper. He want the best things for his daughter, but when Jamie hospitalized, he realized that how great Landon’s love for his daughter until his heart finally melted and allowed Landon close to his daughter. Reverend fell so happy about that. Reverend even helped Landon make telescopes for Jamie. It proving that Reverend really love Jamie. Until Jamie and Landon married and he must face the facts that he lost her beloved daughter in the end of summer.

Hegbert Sullivan is Jamie's father. He is the Beaufort church minister. His wife died shortly after giving birth to Jamie. He is very old with "translucent skin"; he is often crabby but his daughter describes him as having "a good sense of humor".He wrote the local play, The Christmas Angel but he maintains a strong dislike for Mr. Carter due to his father's choices.

"One of his own store of gold at home. Why not be sold and the money used to build houses. Let her be great, not decrepit like now. That's the reward of a miser. When asked for donations, the answer is always no. Now, feel yourself! "But no one dared openly mocking or cursing farmers unfortunate  it. All the taunts and curses spoken only among themselves only, not in front of the farmer.Only a poor old man who dared to be honest with the farmer. The old man lived not far from the house of the farmer. "Come on, put it this way. In the gold holes bury a stone or whatever, and shall apply as before you were robbed. "Hearing that, the farmer is angry." What do you mean? You make fun of me, huh? The lost gold, not stone. You're so evil neighbor. You're a poor man who could only bury a stone. I could bury any gold whenever i want . Now I lost the gold, and you just told me to bury bad rock. You think a stone with gold? "The atmosphere was rowdy. arbitrate people calm the old man replied: "What is the difference between gold and stone? If you can bury the gold, you should also be buried stone. do you know , to bury the gold means you've made the precious metal as the goods are worthless.So, what's wrong with you bury a stone and imagine that you are the golden tomb.

JAMIE SULLIVAN

Jamie, who is played by Mandy Moore, is one of two major characters in A Walk to Remember and is the film’s protagonist.  She is the eighteen year old daughter of a Baptist minister.  She is not considered to be popular by the other kids at her school.  She is a religious person who always tries to find the good in everyone she meets.  Her interests include theatre, tutoring disadvantaged children, and astrology.  She is sheltered by her father and although she is eighteen, she is not allowed to date boys.  Jamie lands the role of the lead actress in the spring musical and it is here where she meets Landon Carter.  Jamie transforms from a shy and sheltered girl into a strong and brave woman.  She is dying of leukemia in the movie and she confesses that she is not afraid of death.  She states, “Maybe God had a bigger plan for me than I had for myself.  Like this journey never ends.  Like you were sent to me because I’m sick.  To help me through all this.  You’re my angel.”  Jamie’s number one goal in life is to get married in the church where her mother and father were married.  Jamie gets her wish as she marries Landon Carter in this church

Landon Carter is the protagonist. He is a popular student in his school, not like many other students. Landon attends church every Sunday. He is polite to his parents and teachers, comfortable wearing a jacket and tie when meeting with adults, he's never arrogant and Landon is a well-behaved teenager.

Landon wasn't an open person. No one in his life is asking him to be anything more, not his friends, not his parents, and not his teachers. His life's performance is satisfactory, and no one sees any reason to change it. No one, that is, until Jamie Sullivan enters his life. Landon begins to compare himself to her, and he finds himself sorely wanting. Jamie is everything for him.

Landon's always with Jamie when frustrates and intrigues him. He marvels that anyone is naturally that good, selfless, and cheerful, at the same time that he feels pressure to be better and guilt over having been less than he could be all these years. It is that pressure and guilt that create an opportunity for Landon to grow, not into just a typical teenage boy but an extraordinary young man.

Tari Page’llu is a name for traditional dance of Toraja that is very unique. Why do I say that? Because it have some unique that we can see. Let me explain it. First, When the dance starts, the audience can approach the dancers to tuck money in the decoration applied in the dancer's head. The decoration applied is called Sa’pi or Kaundore. Just for your information, Sa’pi or Kaundore are tools of dancer that they always wear when they’re dancing. Second, they danced to the rhythm of drum beat played by four young men. One of them will rise to the top of the drum and follow the dancing with the others. So, because that tow elements, Tari Page’lluit looks very unique

Tari Page’llu is very famous for this modern era. Tari Page’llu  symbolizes a welcoming ceremony at the excitement, such as weddings. If they (couples) are from Toraja, they will request Tari Page’llu as an opening party. Because they consider that culture of Toraja need to provide anymore . So it will be lost in time.
